EDUCATION SYSTEM IN INDIA

Education is very important for our life. Today India is second from top in education network. Universities in India are established by the central or state government through legislation while institutions are set up by Government or private bodies. All the institutions are recognized by some university. The system of Higher education consists of 3 years of education after 12th class in field of arts and science and 4 years in professional fields like engineering and medical. But education structure in India is not as per norms. 25% of Indian population is uneducated. Only 7% of the population moves to school and 15% of those who take admission goes to high school and secure a place in higher education system.

Some reasons why education system in India is stated less important are as follows:

  • 80% of schools are controlled by the government. Private schools are costly and poor people cannot afford it.

  • Many families have the mentality there should be more persons to earn and small kids instead of going to school go to earn money.

  • Infrastructure facilities in schools in the rural areas and in slums have very bad quality of education.

  • The teachers are not qualified at all and not given salary so they did not work effectively.

In India the structure of education focuses on theoretical study only. Theory of subject is important but we should know to apply theory in practical field also. If one has studied theoretical part very well then also it’s not important that he will be able to apply it in practical application. The education system in India should focus more on practical application along with theoretical knowledge. The education structure in India should be implemented in kind that every individual receive education and get prepared to meet the ongoing world necessities with practical knowledge.
